LLS places bar code stickers on its workers' passports. The stickers allow tracking of
passport and visa procedures and monitoring of worker status. By using bar codes, the
system can track a number of procedural steps:
- worker check-in and fee payment
- worker’s passport sent to LSS office responsible for submittals
- passport received by office
- passport submitted to consulate
- interview date set
- consulate results – applicant approved, denied, fingerprint required or interview missed
